rarara Rasputin Russia’s greatest love machine, he drank it all
The next beer on the quest to have 1001 different and awesome beers is the North Coast Brewing Company’s Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout.
It is a big black 9 % stout that has been rated as .It has a solid mocha looking head which hangs around and smells of high quality dark chocolate with a sticky sort of alcoholic aroma which promises that this beer is going to be a warming beer that will leave you totally satisfied.
This is beer is like watching the development of a city like New York City in fast forward. It just keeps building itself up and improving itself. It starts as a nice malty sweetness with some bitterness that is always there when enjoying this beer. As this beer warms up the flavours become more prominent, dark chocolate, treacle and a hint of vanilla. Towards the end of these flavours the bitterness ramps up and slaps you in the face, I was waiting for this because with 75 IBU’s which is above what you would expect with your standard IPA.
This beer is stuffed full of warming flavour at the end, perfect for a cold winter day! To truly appreciate the full flavours of this beer make sure you don’t drink it straight from the fridge.
Till next time friends
